Our school has just begun to share the organic gardening we do on our allotment with a school in Slovenia. Ms Francis met a teacher from there on an eTwinning conference in Sardinia last summer. Ms Francis asked her new teacher friend,Tatjana, if Slovenia had scarecrows. Tatjana said not exactly but there is a special thing called a ’klopotec’ which makes a horrible noise in vineyards in east Slovenia. The machine is supposed to scare birds away from the crops just like our tattiebogle in our allotment.
